I purchased these hamburger buns in March of 2019. They have been in their original packaging and never refrigerated nor have they been in the freezer. As of today, May 14th 2021, they still don't have any mold on them and they don’t have any signs of decay.
When edible “food-like stuff” can sit on your pantry shelf for a long time or even years and never rot or decay, they are not food!
Foods like refined grains, pastas, crackers, breads, candies, chips, cereals or even fake cheeses really should be left on the shelves at the grocery store.
You are better off eating whole fresh food rather than processed products. Today there are thousands of other edible food-like substances in the supermarket.
What we should choose more of is more real food like meats, fish, fowl, eggs, vegetables, nuts, seed and fruit. Fresh or frozen is also much more nutritious than canned.
Just because it may be edible, doesn't mean you should eat it
